Second annual Open Call for NUAcT Fellowships opens week commencing 13 January 2020

This year's closing date is 6 March 2020. We sometimes also offer targeted fellowships in specific areas which can be advertised at any point in the year. 

Who can apply?

Our NUAcT Fellows are talented early career researchers from a range of backgrounds who bring with them a wealth of experience in research, outreach, teaching and more. This round we are also welmacoming applications from clinicians. 

Because our cohort spans such a broad disciplinary reach, it is difficult to say what makes a ‘typical’ NUAcT Fellow. What they all have in common is a passion for their research and for developing a cohesive and positive research environment. They have an appetite for exploring ways of working across boundaries and the motivation and talent to carry out research that can have a real and meaningful impact.

The Arts and Humanities Selection Panel welcomes applications from the following disciplines:

The Engineering and Technology Selection Panel welcomes applications from the following disciplines:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Marine, Offshore and Subsea Technology
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Computer Science

The Medicine and Biological Sciences Selection Panel welcomes applications from researchers working in disciplines covered by our broad research portfolio within the Faculty of Medical Sciences as well as relevant areas in the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology in particular the School of Environmental Sciences.

The Physical and Natural Sciences Selection Panel welcomes applications from the following disciplines:

  • Applied Mathematics
  • Pure Mathematics
  • Statistics
  • Physics
  • Agriculture and Applied Social Science
  • Biology and Zoology
  • Chemistry
  • Earth, Environmental and Marine Sciences

Applicants to the NUAcT Clinical Research selection panel will be medically qualified candidates who are towards the end of their speciality training or are within 3 years of appointment at Consultant or GP level. Non-medically qualified clinicians will be experienced clinical practitioners having completed professional training for their clinical discipline.

Medical applicants should have full GMC registration and a licence to practice in the UK and other clinicians should hold current registration with their relevant professional regulatory body.
