TEMA+ Programme With Erasmus Mundus Scholarship
APPLICATION FOR TEMA+ programme with Erasmus Mundus scholarship is NOW OPEN UNTIL
February 23, 2020 (23:59 CET).
Candidates have to upload their documents through the online application system to the TEMA+ website and send the application package with the hard copy to the address of the TEMA Secretariat+ in Budapest until FEBRUARY 23, 2020 (23:59 CET).
Self-paying students and other scholarship holders can apply until JUNE 21, 2020 (23:59 CET). Both packages include the same documents.
Regarding students with special needs, the consortium is fully dedicated to ensuring equal rights to everyone, in accordance with the declaration of the European Congress on Disability (Madrid 2003), in order to improve the conditions of disabled people and therefore, to make the partner universities spheres of an inclusive society. On the application form, candidates may note if they have any disability they will need special assistance with. This information is kept strictly confidential, and all necessary steps are taken to ensure students are given the necessary assistance.

Note: The same admission requirements apply to European and third country students.
The selection is based on academic excellence and proficiency in English and in French. TEMA+ EMJMD will welcome Programme Country and Partner Country graduate students, as follows:
DEGREE REQUIREMENT
The TEMA+ Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Course accepts candidates with various academic backgrounds and degrees (BA/MA, eventually PhD), and is dedicated to foster lifelong learning. The TEMA+ welcomes students at Master level who have obtained a first higher education degree, a master’s degree or demonstrate a recognised equivalent level of learning according to national legislation and practices in the degree awarding countries.
The TEMA+ is open to excellent Programme and Partner Country students having acquired a first degree (BA/BSc /180 ECTS/) or a master’s degree (MA/MSc/120 ECTS) in History, Geography, Philosophy, Anthropology, Ethnography, Sociology, Cultural Studies, Urban Studies, Architecture, Nationalism Studies, International Relations, Law, Economy, Administration, Languages or related fields.
In case of obtaining the diploma only after the deadline of application, it is possible to send its certified copy later. Nevertheless, in this case, the candidate has to provide in the application package an official certificate from his / her university testifying the studies and also has to indicate the precise date of getting the diploma. The same rules apply for language test results.
LANGUAGE COMPETENCES
As the TEMA+ programme is provided in English and in French, proficiency in these languages is a must.
To apply, the candidates must dispose of a language certificate of both from English and French: one of them must be of an advanced level and the other may be of a more elementary level, which can be also set out by the candidate's university or department.
The following English language tests are accepted:
The level of English proficiency should be at least C1, using the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages scale.
- TOEFL
- paper based: 580 or above
- computer based: 237 or above
- internet based: 92 or above

- DELF:
minimum level is A2

Please note that TCF is only valid for 2 years. Any certificate expiring before September 1st of the applicant's first year in TEMA Master Course will not be accepted.

The TEMA+ Consortium does not require a language test certificate from applicants:
- Whose native language is either English or French,
- Holding a diploma/degree delivered by a college, high school or higher education institution (such as A levels, baccalaureate, BA/BSc etc.) in which the language of instruction is English or French,
- Who have FLE (teaching French as a foreign language) or TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) qualification.
Please note that a certificate for the other language is required.
Applicants holding a certificate in English or in French that is nationally recognized in their country must request a validation of it by the TEMA+ Secretariat. However, national certificates must be at least of advanced level and evidence the holder's both oral and written skills. Knowledge of other European languages, especially Italian, Czech or Hungarian is an asset.
WORK EXPERIENCE
No work experience is required for admission to TEMA+ EMJMD. However, professional experience in a field related to the Master Course is an asset.
CERTIFICATE OF RESIDENCE
As the Erasmus Mundus schorlarship contribution to student travel and installation costs and the monthly subsistence allowance depend on the place of residence of a scholarship holder, applicants are invited to consult the PRADO website (Public Register of Authentic Travel and Identity Documents Online) published by the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union (GSC), with information on a list of documents that could serve as proof for determining the legal residency of a person.
