Prizes
Winners of the competition will receive cash prizes as below:
- The first place winner will receive a cash prize of $ 5,000
- The second place winner will receive a cash prize of $ 4,000
- The third place winner will receive a cash prize of $ 3,000
A formal award ceremony will be organized at one of Dell EMC events in the region. The winning team and their mentor(s) will be invited to attend the ceremony along with officials from their institute.
How to participate
Students are invited to submit their project abstracts in areas related to the advancement of technologies and applications in Cloud Computing, Big Data, and High Performance Computing. Please be advised that high quality project ideas that do not fall within these areas may be accepted but may get lower evaluation points. Example focus areas of this competition include:

Afterwards, the shortlisted projects and teams will be notified to proceed to the next phase of ‘Project Design Layout Submission’ followed by ‘Final Project Submission’ for the selection of the winners.

Eligibility and participation criteria
The submission of the Project Abstract deadline is 30th November 2016 and the winner's final announcement will be on 4th September 2017. Students who wish to participate should be in their senior year and should be enrolled with any of the EMC Academic Alliance Institutes of the Middle East and Africa.
Students should have a faculty member as their mentor.
Students should have a strong academic position validated by the Head of the Department.

Students should be listed in only one project.
Students should be unemployed and fulltime university students.

Terms and Conditions
Motivated by the success of the EMC Academic Alliance program, EMC has launched an annual graduation project contest for senior undergraduate students, who are enrolled with the EMC Academic Alliance from universities in the Middle East and Africa.
Eligibility and Participation Criteria
- Students who wish to participate should be in their senior year and should be enrolled in any of the Dell EMC Academic Alliance Institutions of the Middle East and Africa
- Students should have a faculty member as their supervisor
- Students should be a non-governmental employees and full-time university students
- Authenticity of the information provided by the students should be validated by the head of his or her department
- Students should be listed only in one project
- All communication with Dell EMC will be between the project supervisor and team leader
- Each competing team should consists of 3-5 members and one of the team members should be selected as a team leader with the following responsibilities
Team Leader duties:
- Provide information to and from the team.
- Coordinate meetings and their schedule
- Envision the details of the project including its objectives and constraints.
- Make sure that team members communicate with each other as scheduled and in a professional way.
- Ensure that all members contribute meaningfully to each meeting and to the project as a whole in terms of content and times.
- In case of conflicts, he/she should lead resolving it soon by compromise, discussion, or through an external arbitrator.
- Record and monitor the progress of the project as scheduled
- Make sure that deliverables are submitted as instructed by the team advisor.
- Work with enthusiasm, motivate team members and keep high moral among team members.

2. Design report submission
3. Final Submission: Shortlisted teams will need to complete the project and submit a final report, which contains:
- Project summary
- Project description
- Software tools and facilities used
- References
Submitted projects will be evaluated on the basis of: Project innovation
- Design approach
- Generated prototype
- Written report
- Oral presentation via Video Conference
Submission Details
- All submissions should be made online
- Only registered teams will be provided with the contest updates. They will receive instructions regarding their entries via email
- All of the submitted material, along with any written or oral presentations should be provided in English.
- The submission of the final report will be accepted in PDF format only.
- Presentation deliverables should consist of a technical report.
- Only Arial or Times Roman font in point 11 size is allowed.
- A separate PowerPoint presentation should be submitted to the evaluation team three days prior to the video conference. During the video conference each team will run the demo of their prototype, at this point the source code is not required among the other deliverables.
