NATO Summer School 2018

14th Annual PSSI Summer School, in cooperation with NATO Public Diplomacy Division and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

The summer school offers a high-profile study course for students of graduate programs in political science, international relations and other relevant fields from NATO’s member and partner countries about future challenges for NATO and the most pressing issues in current security affairs. The six-day course will include lectures, presentations, as well as discussions and a week-long crisis simulation led by experts on NATO and security studies – both scholars and practitioners.

Agenda includes topics such as:

  • NATO in a New Strategic Environment
  • Article V and Hybrid Threats
  • Cyber Security
  • Space Security
  • Transatlantic Partnership
  • Russian Disinformation Campaigns
  • Next Generation of Sanctions: Market-Based Tools
  • Week-long crisis simulation based on topics discussed during lectures

Eligibility

Students currently enrolled in Master’s degree programs in Political Science, International Relations and Economics and other relevant fields as well as young professionals from NATO’s member and partner countries.

Application

Please fill out the application form and upload your CV along with a short essay (max. 1 page) on the following topic: “In your opinion, what was the most important news about NATO over the last couple of months, and why?“

The deadline for sending applications is May 6th, 2018 (at midnight CET). The results will be announced by May 25, 2018.

Costs

Participation fee amounts to 6500,- CZK / 250 EUR. Accommodation, meals and local transport (Prague-Měřín-Prague) will be fully covered by the organizers.

PSSI can offer scholarships (a 25 or 50% registration fee reduction) to a very limited number of applicants from low-income families.
