1 Fulbright Greece-Turkey Joint Research Award
The joint award with the Turkish Fulbright Commission allows students to engage in trans-regional research and/or study. Up to one award per academic year is open to candidates at all degree levels, but preference is given to Master’s and Ph.D. candidates. Applications will be considered in the following fields related to Greece and Turkey: environmental studies, marine biology, disaster management and emergency preparedness, Classical, Byzantine, Ottoman studies, political science, social sciences, classical studies / archaeology, cultural policy, music and the arts, and tourism (including eco- and agro-tourism). The award is for eight to ten months with at least four months spent in each country. Applicants may select which country to visit first, depending on the needs of their project.
Grant Period

Grants will begin on September 15 and end in mid-June.
The first part of the grant will take place in Turkey, followed by a grant component in Greece, or vice-versa, depending on the project proposal. Travel to Turkey may be subject to restrictions; please check with the Turkish Fulbright Commission before planning the Turkish segment of this grant.
Grantees are expected in the first country of destination a few days before the beginning of the academic year on September 15 for the required Fulbright Commission orientation.

Candidates at all degree levels are accepted, but preference is given to Master's and Ph.D. candidates. Additional Information: Turkish or Greek proficiency is not required. Some study of Turkish and Greek prior to arrival is encouraged in order to promote deeper engagement with the host community.
