Annual Social Meeting of the Swiss Chapter of the SAHS, 2022, Switzerland

Publish Date: Jul 02, 2022

Deadline: Aug 14, 2022

In cooperation with Mr. René Roca, Director of the Research Institute for Direct Democracy and the Gymnasium at the Münsterplatz, together with Former Swiss Ambassador to the United States of America, Mr. Martin Dahinden, this year’s annual outing will take place on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, in Basel.

The theme this year is the Sister Republics and Democracy and what it means to us today. We are pleased to have the former Swiss Ambassador to the United States of America, Mr. Martin Dahinden, as our guest to join Mr. René Roca to discuss this topic at the Gymnasium am Münsterplatz in Basel. This school dates from 1589, is the oldest Gymnasium in Basel and after the Collège Calvin in Geneva, is the second oldest in Switzerland.

  • They will first hold our business meeting, ca.11.15 hours.
  • After lunch, ca. 14.30 -16.00 hours, you will have a tour of the Old City with emphasis on the Münster area, so that walk will not be too long.
  • After the tour, you will have a talk at the Gymnasium am Münsterplatz, Münsterplatz 15, 4001 Basel, from 16.00 to 17.45 hours.

SAHS Members in Switzerland and in the U.S.A. or from any other destination, are cordially invited to attend this meeting. I do hope many of you will be able to join us as the event will start later and end around 17.45 hours. The cost will be CHF 120 per person.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am looking forward to seeing you on this occasion. The meeting point will be at Basel Train Station, just under the main schedule boards of the trains.
