València International Bayesian Analysis Summer School
Announcing the 4th edition of VIBASS summer school on Bayesian Statistics to be held from 13 to 17 July 2020 in València (Spain). VIBASS offers an opportunity to be introduced into the Bayesian reasoning without previous knowledge in the subject.
VIBASS4 is the Fourth edition of the summer school on Bayesian Statistics to be held from 13 to 17 July 2020 in València (Spain).
The five days of VIBASS are organised in three parts:
-
The first two days include a basic course on Bayesian learning (12 hours), alternating conceptual and practical sessions with R packages.
It would be advisable that participants bring their laptops for the practical sessions.
-
The second part is dedicated to an issue of current interest in Bayesian research.
This edition is dedicated to Bayesian computing with R-INLA.
This 12 h course is provided by Håvard Rue, founder of the INLA development team, Professor of Statistics and Principal Investigator of the Bayesian Computational Statistics and Modeling (BAYESCOMP) group, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and Janet van Niekerk, Post-Doctoral fellow In Statistics at KAUST.
-
The last day, Friday 17th, is devoted to the Fourth VIBASS Workshop.
It includes two plenary sessions, with invited speakers researchers Paula Moraga (Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Bath, UK) and David Rosell (Deptartment of Economics & Business, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain).
