University of Edinburgh Head of School Scholarships (GeoSciences)
The School of GeoSciences is delighted to offer a number of scholarships for the 2016-2017 academic session.
Each scholarship is worth £5,000 and is tenable for one academic year. The award of your scholarship will be deducted from your tuition fee.
Applications from students studying a full-time taught Master's degree in one of the following eligible subject areas are considered:
- Carbon Management
- Earth Observation and Geoinformation Management
- Ecosystem Services
- Environment and Development
- Environmental Sustainability
- Geographical Information Science
- Environment, Culture and Society.
- Marine Systems and Policies
Applicants who have already commenced their programme of study on the closing date are not eligible for this scholarship.
Applicants intending to study part-time or online distance learning courses are not eligible for this scholarship.
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, the international equivalent of a UK 2:1 Honours degree at undergraduate level.
Eligible applicants should complete an online scholarship application
All applications must be submitted no later than 30th June 2016.
Please note you will not be able to access the online application form unless you have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh and have full EASE authentication.
In addition to the standard questions on the application, applicants should also provide the following information within their application:
- Within your personal statement evidencing your passion for your chosen subject; why you deserve the scholarship and evidence of attempts to secure additional means of funding.
A Selection Committee will meet to select the recipients and all candidates will be notified of the outcome in July.
