William Cook Early-Career Research Fellowship and College Lectureship in Economics

Corpus Christi College, Cambridge (UK), seeks to appoint the William Cook Early-Career Research Fellow and College Lecturer in Economics from September 2020 (or as soon as possible thereafter) for a fixed term of four years. Applications are invited from outstanding researchers in any area of economics. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be a scholar in the early stages of their career for whom a short-term post would be an attractive opportunity to enhance their research and academic profile. They will be elected a Fellow of the College and will carry the title of William Cook Early-Career Research Fellow and College Lecturer in Economics.

Stipendiary Early-Career Research Fellowship

Corpus Christi College, Cambridge (UK) invites applications for one Stipendiary Early-Career Research Fellowship tenable for four years from 1 October 2020. Eligible applicants are expected to be at an early stage of their career. If postdoctoral, this is defined as being within two years from the date of a successful viva voce examination. This year applications will be considered in the following fields: Law; Economics; Archaeology; Anthropology; Politics and International Studies; Social Psychology.

An Early-Career Research Fellow is expected to pursue learning and research in their chosen field and publish the results. The College’s academic environment provides favourable conditions for research, which will be undertaken freely and without oversight on the part of the College.

Early-Career Research Fellows are permitted to teach up to six hours per week for additional remuneration, and are expected to participate in the intellectual life of Leckhampton, the College’s graduate site.

Pacific Islander Visiting Fellowship

Applications are invited for a Visiting Fellowship to scholars who are citizens of the Pacific Island nations and also those resident in the French Pacific territories (ie Melanesia, Micronesia, Polynesia), but normally excluding citizens of USA, New Zealand and Australia. The Fellowship is offered to those who wish to spend up to six weeks in the summer in Cambridge. Applicants must be engaged in teaching or research at a University, or at an institution where teaching and/or research is carried out (but not necessarily in the Pacific). Assistance towards the cost of travel to and from the UK, and/or accommodation, may be available from the Macdonald-Milne Bursary.

The College offers temporary senior membership and generous dining privileges (free of charge) at High Table. It also offers free accommodation in a comfortable, modern one-bedroom flat on the College’s main postgraduate site at Leckhampton. Visiting Fellowships are non-stipendiary. The tenure of a Visiting Fellowship cannot be extended.
