Thanks for visiting our website. We hope that you will take a few minutes to explore the site and learn a little more about LEAF Academy. LEAF Academy is a boarding school for future leadership located in Bratislava, Slovakia. The Academy will be an international school with students from throughout the Central Europe region and beyond. As you browse our website, we hope you will check out a few key differentiators.
First, our curriculum. The curriculum will be grounded in our values and will also include Entrepreneurial Leadership, in addition to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and Humanities (Central European studies, Writing, Literature and the Arts). There will also be a character and self-discovery thread that will help young people to grow into the people they aspire to be.
We believe we have assembled a team of outstanding educators who come from traditional and non-traditional backgrounds.

What we all share is a passion for developing young people, for learning and for the Central European region. The LEAF Academy team has significant experience internationally in education, business and non-profit sectors.
Third, financial aid. LEAF Academy is an international boarding school, but will provide financial assistance in order that the highest potential young people can attend regardless of their family economic situation.

Application process
You can begin the admissions process by completing an online application. The application will ask for descriptions of your past achievements, activities, and your motivation for studying at LEAF Academy.
After the application deadline all applications will be reviewed by our admissions team and they will inform you if you are selected to continue on through the next steps: interviews and assessments. Interviews can be done in person but are typically conducted via Skype or Google Hangouts.
The assessments will be online and an opportunity for you to demonstrate your academic aptitude and personality (this is not tied to any specific academic class).
LEAF Academy’s Non-Discrimination Policy
The Academy makes its admissions decisions on merit and on a need-blind basis (applications are reviewed without knowledge of family finances). LEAF Academy does not discriminate on the basis of gender (identity or expression), race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, nationality or ethnicity.
A Note Regarding English
There are no specific English language tests; however, the entire application process is conducted in English. For Year One applicants, your willingness to learn and practice intensely may be more important than your current ability to speak or writing in English.
For Year Three applicants, willingness to learn is also important; however, you should be aware that you will be enrolling in AP level course and taking rigorous assessments in English at the end of each school year.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Each and every student at LEAF Academy is unique. All students have areas in which they excel and areas that need more growth and practice. The admissions team is not looking for “perfect” students; instead, we are searching for candidates that possess a variety of strengths, interests, and backgrounds.
Eligibility
LEAF Academy is an international boarding high school, located in Slovakia, which seeks to enroll active and talented students from diverse backgrounds into a four or two-year program.
We are looking for young people aged 14-19 with the potential to help positively impact the world around them through values such as courage, initiative, and resilience.
Though most students primarily come from Slovakia, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland, we dedicate several places for candidates outside of the Central-European region each year.
