International STEM Scholar Program is an intensive 6-week graduate-level preparatory program designed to prepare you for enrolling in any English-speaking Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math graduate-level program. As part of our STEM Scholars course, you will develop your academic writing, research, communication, and presentation skills while building the confidence necessary for success in graduate school or the workplace.
To apply for this program, you must have:
- A completed undergraduate degree
- An intention to pursue STEM-related studies at a university or college
- A minimum TOEFL score of 71 (internet) or 197 (computer)
Professional/Graduate Skills Course
Graduate Skills course will help you develop your academic note-taking, writing, research, communication, and presentation skills to prepare you for teamwork, discussions, debates, and other verbal interactions in English. As part of the class, you will learn to construct a graduate-level research paper and deliver a professional presentation.
STEM Workshop
STEM workshop will introduce you to different aspects of the STEM field through a guest speaker series and Q&A sessions. Additionally, you will gain insight into what is expected of STEM graduate students and how to prepare for your program. Workshop topics will include how to find campus resources, what to know about course selection, how to be a productive member of a study group or presentation group.
Language Tutoring
In language tutoring sessions, you will meet with our language tutor to receive individual feedback on ways to strengthen your listening, pronunciation, and speaking skills. We tailor our instruction to meet your current skill set.
