Summer School - EU Diplomacy: challenges and opportunities, 2022, University of Pisa, Italy

Publish Date: Mar 07, 2022

Deadline: Apr 30, 2022

Event Dates: from Jun 20, 2022 12:00 to Jun 25, 2022 12:00

The Summer School is organised in the context of the EUDIPLO project. It is based on a teaching programme of about 30 hours of lectures/seminars (including a simulation game) given by experts coming from academia, think tanks (such as the Institute of International Affairs, Rome) and the European External Action Service.
At the end of the programme the students may choose to take a test.

The program will be activated both on campus and online.
The maximum number of on campus students is 25 and the maximum number of online students is 10.

Aim
The Summer School aims at providing students of political science and law interested in the EU external relations a broad overview of the EU diplomatic activities. It is expected that the Summer School will deepen the knowledge of the students on EU’s role as a diplomatic actor in the global arena.
The direct contact between the participants to the Summer School and the teaching staff will stimulate the students to undertake the diplomatic career or a career in international organizations or at the European External Action Service.
The Summer School will also internationalise the academic activities of the University of Pisa. Since the school features a high international profile, it should lead to the establishment of a cooperation network having a permanent character amongst the organisers of the Summer School, the members of the network and the scholars and experts invited to teach in the summer school.

The Summer School gives priority to students of second degree programmes (Masters) in EU law/international studies.
