WIRL-COFUND | Warwick Interdisciplinary Research Leadership Programme

  • The third call for applicants will be open on 1st October 2018 and the deadline for applications is 30th November 2018

  • Applicants who do not meet to the transnational mobility and research experience criteria will not be considered (see below)

Eligibility Criteria

The fellowship applicant must demonstrate transnational mobility and, on 1st May 2019, must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work/study etc.) in the UK for more than 12 months in the three years prior to this deadline.

On 1st May 2019, applicants must be in possession of a doctoral degree or have at least four years full-time equivalent research experience.

Applicants who do not meet these criteria will not be eligible to apply for a WIRL-COFUND Fellowship

The IAS WIRL-COFUND project has received funding the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions COFUND scheme (grant agreement number 713548) to develop the next generation of research leaders. WIRL-COFUND will build on the successful training model developed in the IAS fellowship programmes to bring together early career researchers from around the world into an interdisciplinary research environment. WIRL-COFUND fellows will be expected to undertake research in an area that is linked to one of the Warwick Global Research Priorities.

Each fellow will participate in the IAS Academic Careers and Leadership (Accolade) Programme, an extensive training programme aimed at building an independent research profile and establishing a research career.

The programme will recruit 30 fellows from around the world over a five year period, and the first cohort started in September 2017. Calls will be open to researchers who meet the Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions definition of an Experienced Researcher and conform to the mobility requirements of the COFUND scheme (no more than 12 months spent in the UK in the previous three years).

The legal basis for processing this personal data is performance of a contract.

Your personal data will be shared or disclosed to any third parties external to the University of Warwick. including external Academic reviewers who will consider and assess your application, the European Union’s Horizon 2020 funding evaluators who will require personal data to administer the funding for the programme and the COFUND programme facilitators who will process data for the purposes of administering the programme and facilitating the project at the University of Warwick.

Your personal data will be transferred outside of the EEA, will be kept securely by the University of Warwick and will be retained for a period of five years after the closure of the WIRL COFUND Programme in December 2021.
