CRI Labs Summer School
What is the CRI Labs Summer School?
The CRI Summer School is a 8-week challenge-based programme, hosted by the CRI GameLab and MakerLab. In it, 50 international participants, from a variety of fields, will join forces to learn through masterclasses, workshops, hackathons, and by developing projects tackling the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals – specifically Health and Education and Environment. How? By creating games and making devices that benefit from digital fabrication (3D printing, rapid prototyping, etc.). Experts in serious game making, medicine, environmental science, digital fabrication, frugal innovation – and more! – will mentor groups of students as they hack their way to a better world.Promising projects will be encouraged to pursue spin-off opportunities after the summer school - the CRI Labs manage a catalysis programme for innovative research and development.
The CRI GameLab and MakerLab are looking for talented and motivated mentors and participants, to join our CRI Labs Summer School in Paris. Profiles the program is looking for : medicine, engineering, art, design, game creation & development, sound design, fashion, management & communication…
Desire to learn and motivation are key! If you want to participate but feel you might not have the “right skills”, apply anyway! You may have something unique to contribute and you’ll be able to express this in your application. The summer school is free and open to all.
To bring their skillsets to the co-creation process. If you have a project idea that you want people to work on, that’s great! However, this is in no way mandatory. The Summer School is the perfect environment to codesign, innovate, and develop your skills, while contributing to a meaningful project.
To bring projects and/or expertise to the teams. You can also teach masterclasses and workshops. In exchange, the summer school will catalyse your project. At the end of it, you and your team will have produced a working prototype. Want to become a mentor? Contact for more information.
