Call for International Students to Study at Sichuan Agricultural University
The scholarship was set up by Sichuan Agricultural University since 2015 to attract and encourage more outstanding overseas students to study and conduct scientific research in Sichuan Agricultural University.
The International Office of Sichuan Agricultural University is authorized to administer the acceptance, review, and approval of the applications of Sichuan Agricultural University Scholarship for Outstanding International Students.

Scholarship Duration
1. Undergraduate students: 4 years;
2. Master students: 3 years;
3. Doctoral students: 3 years;
Note: The duration of scholarship is fixed and subject to the Admission Notice.
Eligibility Requirements
1. Non-Chinese citizens who are healthy physically and mentally, and friendly to China;
2. Applicants should have a competitive academic record;
3. Applicants who have not obtained any other scholarship granted by Chinese government;
4. Education background and age limit:
1) Applicants for bachelor’s degree program should have Senior high school diplomaand be under the age of 30;
2) Applicants for master’s degree program should have bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35;
3) Applicants for doctoral degree program should have master’s degree and be under the age of 40;
Scholarship Standards
1. The Scholarship is for outstanding international students who are applying for the admission or who are studying in the bachelor, master or doctoral degrees programs of Sichuan Agricultural University.
1) Free tuition (RMB 26,000 Yuan/year for doctoral students, RMB 20,000 Yuan/year for master students, RMB 16,000 Yuan /year for undergraduates);
2) A living allowance of RMB 2,000 Yuan/month for doctoral students, RMB 1,700 Yuan/month for master students, RMB 1,400Yuan/month for undergraduates.
Note:
1. Scholarship students should pay insurance, accommodation and other fees at the International Students Office (ISO), and go through all the procedures prescribed on the registration schedule before they get the scholarship grant and the monthly living allowance.
2. The Sichuan Agricultural University Scholarship for Outstanding International Students (SAUSO) needs to be applied year by year. The students who have been granted the Scholarship are requested to take part in the annual review in July each year and apply for the Scholarship for the next academic year. Please complete the Scholarship Application Form of Sichuan Agricultural University (For Currently Enrolled Students), and submit it along with supplementary materials such as transcripts, certificates of awards, letters of recommendation, and publications to the International Students Office(ISO) between June 15 to June 30 each year. The scholarship will be terminated if the students fail to meet the requirements in Annual Review.
How to apply
Applicants shall visit the Admissions Page of SAU International Office and read carefully the Admission Information.
Submit Scholarship Application in the online system, upload Scholarship Application Form and other application documents in the online system as required, send the documents to the International Office after all the information submitted is verified. (mail address is enclosed in the item Contact Information).
Complete Online Application on the website of International Students Office (ISO), Sichuan Agricultural University. Print and sign two hard copies of the Application Form produced by the system after all the information submitted is verified.
The Scholarship Application Form should be submitted with other materials to the International Students Office (ISO), Sichuan Agricultural University, by post-mail or in person (see Contact information).
Admission and Notification
Sichuan Agricultural University will review all the application materials. Decisions for granting the scholarships will be made on the basis of the applicant’s competitiveness, academic record and other preset standards. Scholarship recipients will be notified by the university before June 30th.
Scholarship Management Rules (excerpts)
1. The applicants will be examined by the Review Committee of Sichuan Agricultural University for International Students Scholarships.
2. Scholarship recipients must go to Sichuan Agricultural University to register and pay the Tuition Fees, Insurance, Accommodation Fee and other fees on the date stipulated by the university. Students who have not received permission and arrive late for this process will have their Scholarship status automatically cancelled and are not eligible to re-apply for Scholarship within 3 years. Scholarship recipients who are unable to start school for some special reasons will retain their qualifications to enter the university for one year but will have their Scholarship status automatically cancelled.
3. Scholarship recipients must go through the Annual scholarship Review. The scholarship will be terminated if the students fail to meet the requirements in Annual Review.
4. The duration of the scholarship may not be extended if the scholarship recipients fail to finish the studies due to personal reasons.
5. Scholarship recipients who suspend their studies due to illness or for other personal reasons will not be reserved.
6. Scholarship recipients should register in their college at the start of every term, before they get the monthly living allowance.
7. Scholarship recipients registering before the 15th of the registration month (the 15th included) will be granted the full living allowance of that month. Recipients registering after the 15th of the registration month will be granted half of the living allowance of that month.
8. Monthly living allowances cover school holidays. Scholarship students who missed the monthly living allowance during holidays may be reimbursed upon their return on campus.
9. Upon graduation, students will get a living allowance for another 15 days after the graduation date set by the university. The allowance will be terminated from the following month after students suspend, terminate or complete their studies at the university.
10. The living allowance will be suspended for at least one month for those students who do not register on time without permission from the university, who are on leave for non-health reasons, who are out of contact or absent from the university for 10 days.
11. International Office of Exchange and Cooperation at Sichuan Agricultural University reserves the final right of interpretation of these detailed scholarship implementation regulations.
