If you choose to study Engineering at unibz, this degree course will provide you with wide knowledge and crucial skills in the fields of industrial and mechanical engineering.

This study programme is subdivided into three majors.

The Major in Mechanics offers a specialisation in the sector of traditional mechanics  whereas the focus of the Major in Energy Engineering is on energy-related disciplines.

These two majors guarantee the development of an excellent set of technical skills and prepare you for the admission to the Master in Mechanical Engineering or in Energy Engineering offered by our faculty.

The third major, a highly specialised vocational course in Logistics and Production, is targeted at those students who want to put straight into practice what they've learnt. For this reason, the subjects are more closely linked to the economic and management aspect of logistics and production.

The Dual Study Programme

This unique dual study programme in Logistics and Production is offered in collaboration with Assoimprenditori Alto Adige, the association of the local entrepreneurs. The duration of the course is extended to four years. In the first year you study full time whereas in the remaining three years you'll be alternating work and study.

If you choose this programme you'll gain real work experience in a company that has agreed to invest in your training and that will allow you to obtain your degree while working.

Structure of the course

All study programmes guarantee specific training in the field of industrial engineering. The modules are similar in the first two years of the majors and for the first year and a half of the dual study programme, combining engineering, physics and maths. In the following years, you'll specialise in the fields of mechanics, energy or economics and management depending on the chosen study programme.

Exchange programmes and internships

Currently we offer exchange programmes with almost 20 partner universities all over the world.

You will need to undertake a compulsory internship lasting a minimum of 150 hours. You can choose where to carry out your internship from the long list of Italian and foreign businesses unibz is partnered with.

Career opportunities

Our graduates find a job easily, be it in South Tyrol, in Italy or abroad. They work as freelance professional or for companies in the mechanical, electromechanical or plant sectors, in automation, in production systems, energy conversion and related fields in energy companies, in most manufacturing industries, in services companies, for the government or the local authorities.

The Energy curriculum, in particular, provides specific training to those students who want to work in the sector of electricity providers, designing and setting up energy production systems with a special focus on technology aimed at producing energy from renewable sources.

Graduates from the dual curriculum (alternating study and work) in Logistics and Production will be able to work – as freelancers, employees or managers – for manufacturing companies, service providers and for the public administration. They will be specialists in the management of materials and in Supply-Chain Management; in the organisation and automation of production systems, in business organisational and production processes; in Logistics, Project Management and Controlling.

Well prepared and ready for the job market. On the website of AlmaLaurea you can check statistical data about graduates’ satisfaction and their employability.

A piece of advice:
Take a look at last year's admission test to get an idea of the structure of the test and the type of questions. You can also look at the topics suggestions in order to prepare for the exam.

For first year students we offer a preparatory course in maths in September.

You can find all the information you need about the documentation required for the application in the Study Manifesto.
