The recent economic crisis has posed important challenges to the political institutions and public finances of developed and developing countries. These challenges have motivated scholars to study both the political determinants and consequences of these recent events. The aim of this workshop is to bring together scholars studying topics like populism, polarization, corruption, political economy of migration, conflict, selection of politicians and the interaction between public finances and political institutions, among others.
