The ‘LEaDing Fellows Postdoc Programme’ will provide 90 researchers from all over the world who recently obtained a PhD, with the opportunity to gain two years of work experience in the challenging, internationally acclaimed and multidisciplinary environment offered by Leiden University, Leiden University Medical Center, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Erasmus Medical Center and Delft University of Technology.
LEaDing Fellows' is a Marie Curie COFUND programme and will run from February 2017 till February 2022. The aim is to provide opportunities for international, intersectoral and interdisciplinary research training, as well as transnational and cross-sectoral mobility, by offering open recruitment and attractive working conditions.

The Faculties of Archeology, Law, Science, and Social and Behavioural Sciences at Leiden University are inviting postdoctoral researchers from all over the world with an interest to gain two years of work experience in the challenging, internationally acclaimed and multidisciplinary environment at Leiden University to read further. The aim of the LEaDing Fellow Programme is to help early stage ambitious and excellent researchers develop new research skills, transferable skills and a view on career options in an academic research, industrial or public setting, thus increasing their employability.

Faculty of Archeology
The Faculty of Archaeology is an international faculty in the multidisciplinary world of Archaeology and is home to 500 students. The Faculty is remarkable for its global diversity and the strong connection it fosters between teaching and research. It ranks as the best on continental Europe and is in the top ten of the world. The Faculty hosts a successful, multi-disciplinary team of researchers active over the entire globe. It is here that researchers from all areas of the field work to determine the future of archaeological research: the future of the past begins in Leiden.

Leiden Law School
The faculty is renowned for its research and teaching which covers the full breadth of law and goes far beyond the national boundaries. With its international focus and roots going far back in the Dutch legal order, the faculty has helped to train many generations of legal professionals for key positions within a society governed by the rule of law. With over 5,000 students and 450 members of staff, the Faculty of Law is one of the largest faculties in the Netherlands. Yet, in all its diversity, it is still known for its ability to provide education on a small scale. The Faculty focuses on multi-faceted high-level teaching and research, both nationally and internationally. It does so by working with talented people and stimulating and supporting them in their professional and personal ambitions.
Field of research: The research of the faculty is not restricted to just one core issue, but aims at excellent cutting-edge research across the full breadth of law: Private law, Public Law, Criminal Law and Criminology, Interdisciplinary study of law, Tax law and economics.
Faculty of Science

Our Faculty’s expertise spans the entire spectrum of science, ranging from Mathematics and Statistical science, Computer science and Data science, Astronomy, Physics, Chemistry and Pharmaceutical science to Biology and Environmental sciences. We are committed to provide meaningful, rigorous and quality academic experiences in an personalized environment with a cutting edge research infrastructure. Students can expand their academic horizons while deepening their expertise and knowledge in an array of disciplines. Our faculty members are inspired by a fascination with the unknown and the urge to enlarge our fundamental knowledge. Field of research: research programmes span the entire spectrum of science ranging from Mathematics, Computer Science, Astronomy, Physics, Chemistry, Drugs resarch, Biology and Environmental Science.
Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences
A centre of outstanding and internationally competitive research in the social and behavioural sciences. The shared essence of the Faculty’s teaching and research is that it is not pursued at some remove from society, but is instead closely and inextricably connected with it, precisely through the questions and subjects addressed. The Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences comprises four institutes: Education and Child Studies, Political Science, Psychology and Cultural Anthropology & Development Sociology. The Faculty also includes the Centre for Science and Technology Studies. The Faculty is home to 5,000 students and 600 members of staff.
Field of research: it brings together high-quality research and outstanding teaching in the disciplines of cultural anthropology and development sociology, education and child studies, political science, psychology, science and technology studies, as well as in multidisciplinary approaches.
ICLON – Leiden University Graduate School of Teaching
ICLON, Leiden University Graduate School of Teaching, is a unit between faculties within Leiden University. It has a Governing Council in which the faculties of the University participate. There are approximately 100 employees who work in 2 Departments (Department of Secondary Education and the Department of Higher Education) and an Administrative Unit. ICLON, Leiden University Graduate School of Teaching, does scientific research and provides undergraduate and postgraduate teacher education and in-service teacher training, together with services pertaining to educational design and innovation, staff development and organizational development. These services are organized on behalf of Leiden University, colleges of higher professional education and secondary schools.
Field of research: the current ICLON research program encompasses two related research themes: teaching and teacher learning.

Your individual training plan consists of a choice of research skills and transferable/personal skills, intended inter-university cooperation (specifically internship at one of the partners), and cooperation and exposure to extra-university sectors (such as visits to or internships at public or industrial collaborators). Inter-university partnerships of the Leiden University, Leiden Delft Erasmus Centres: Eight multidisciplinary centres have been inaugurated by the three universities in Leiden, Rotterdam and Delft. Applications for LEaDing Fellow positions in these fields will benefit from this current research cooperation.

Terms and conditions (at Leiden University). We offer a full-time, two year term position, with the possibility of renewal based on need, funding and performance. Salary range from € 3,675.- to € 4,654.- gross per month (pay scale 10 or 11 in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities).
