EUROPEAN MASTER OF SCIENCE IN SUSTAINABLE FOOD SYSTEMS ENGINEERING, TECHNOLOGY & BUSINESS (BiFTec-FOOD4S)
The two-year European Master of Science in Sustainable Food Systems Engineering, Technology and Business (BiFTec-FOOD4S) is jointly organised by three European partner institutions: KU Leuven, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences (HSA) and Catholic University of Portugal (UCP). It is anticipated that by the start of the academic year 2020-2021, University College Dublin (UCD) will have joined the consortium. The programme fosters innovation and technology to help you cope with future needs and sustainability within our FOOD4S (“food force”) paradigm: Sustainable Food Systems Science and Engineering. BiFTec-FOOD4S adopts a transversal and multidisci plinary approach to a broad range of topics related to the 4S pillars: Science (Food Science & Engineering Technology), Sustainability (Sustainable Food Product & Food Process Design), Safety (Food Safety & Quality), and Simulation (Computational Food Science & Technology). More in-depth courses, a professional competence module and a master’s thesis project allow for specialisation in the domains of Innovative Technology, Energy & Food Chains, Risk & Safety and Sustainable Food Production & Business. Upon successful graduation, you will receive a joint degree.
Scholarships
Several consortium scholarships will be awarded to top applicants on a competitive basis. The scholarship covers tuition fees, and part of your costs for travelling, housing, and living for the entire duration of the study programme. Next to these full grants, some fee waiver grants are available for the best ranked runner up candidates.
