Be the Next Manufacturing Entrepreneur
The IESMA summer school offers a unique opportunity for developing innovation and entrepreneurship skills for the manufacturing world in an international setting.
Participants are immersed in stimulating learning by doing experience during which innovation experts and companies bring hands-on expertise by launching challenges, supporting team project works, and sharing their experience, while international lecturers provide state-of-the-art knowledge.
The EITM IESMA Summer School will be the opportunity for master students and professionals alike to broaden their network with potential European partners and to boost their abilities and competencies to become entrepreneurs able to empower the sustainable manufacturing of the future.
The program assessment is based on the evaluation of the final pitch developed on the industrial challenges they will work on and presented by teams of students on the last day of the summer school.
Program structure
During the 3 week period, the summer school schedule will alternate different types of learning experiences such as company visits, lectures, and workshops on key topics in the innovation & entrepreneurship fields, team working on industrial challenges.
Digital nuggets on the basics of innovation & entrepreneurship will be made available before the start of the school to make sure all participants can enjoy and complete successfully the proposed activities.
The main topics touched during the summer school are:
- IPR management;
- Design thinking for manufacturing and inclusive design for sustainable manufacturing
- Human-machine interaction;
- Digital maturity assessment;
- Digital strategies;
- Digital entrepreneurship;
- Manufacturing innovation
Company visits are organized in: COMAU, Whirlpool, MADE
(transportation from the summer school location to the visiting sites is organized by the summer school organization).
Scan and upload original copies to your application:
- Academic qualification certificate (bachelor of science degree)
- Curriculum Vitae including details on your academic and professional career using preferably the Europass format
- English language proficiency certificate (English language proficiency test such as TOEFL or IELTS, successful completion of previous education in English, completion of ESL program, completion of other English language courses).
- A color copy of your either National ID (only for EU/EFTA students) or passport
Other requirements:
Engineering bachelor students or EIT Manufacturing master students
