The Collegio offers Visiting Research Fellowships to PhD-holding scholars at any stage of career for a period of one to twelve months. We encourage applications from researchers working on the broad range of disciplines covered by the members of Collegio Carlo Alberto and its affiliates, including economics, sociology, political science, demography, and law.
Visiting Fellows are expected to contribute to the research life of Collegio Carlo Alberto, by being in residence full-time in Turin, working on their research project(s), interacting scientifically with the Collegio’s scholars, and attending seminars and lectures. The fellowship does not carry teaching or administrative responsibilities. However, if a Visiting Fellow is interested in teaching a short course or a seminar, this can be arranged by mutual agreement.
The Collegio covers the cost of an economy round-trip ticket from the place of residence of the Visiting Fellow, and logistical assistance in finding accommodation in Turin. It may also consider to offer financial support towards the cost of accommodation and subsistence. The amount assigned to each fellowship will be decided on a case by case basis, depending on the candidate’s seniority and on the funding from other sources at his or her disposal.
Interested candidates should submit their applications online using the link below. Applications should include a CV and a brief (1-2 page) research statement of the activities planned during the visit, and indicate the preferred period of stay at the Collegio
The deadlines for financially supported Visiting Research Fellowships are the following:
- Apply no later than 15 September for visiting fellowships starting no earlier than the following January. Selected candidates will be notified by the end of October.
- Apply no later than 15 February for visiting fellowships starting no earlier than the following September. Selected candidates will be notified by the end of March.
Researchers who are interested in visiting Collegio Carlo Alberto for periods shorter than one month or who do not require financial support can apply anytime following the same procedure.
