Master’s Degree Program in Economics

ISET – The International School of Economics at TSU is opening the application process for its prestigious MA in Economics. ISET’s curriculum mirrors the best programs in the U.S. and Western Europe, and is taught in English by international professors.

Applications for admission in 2019 are being accepted online (www.iset.ge). The deadline for applications is 6 May 2019. Admission exams will be held simultaneously in Tbilisi and Yerevan in early May 2019.

All regional students accepted into the program will be invited to study tuition free during the Math Camp (3 weeks in August) and the first miniterm (8 weeks in September-October 2019).

Tuition and Financial Aid:

TUITION FEE: Annual tuition is $3,000. However, thanks to the generosity of ISET supporters, the School is able to offer.

Relocation Waivers: Armenian students receive an extra $600 reduction to tuition to compensate for relocation expenses. 

Accommodation: ISET will provide free accommodation in shared ISET-rented apartments for first-year Armenian students.

Merit-based Scholarships: the top 10 best performing students are eligible for merit-based scholarships up to the full cost of tuition. All successful regional students are offered partial scholarships.

Needs-based Scholarships: thanks to the ISET community and its partners, we offer a number of scholarships for students in financial need.

Student Loans: ISET offers a low-cost bank loan program to help students cover the cost of their education.

Outstanding Future Career Prospects:

International student exchanges: second-year students have the opportunity to participate in summer schools and research workshops with our partners in Norway and Switzerland.

Enrollment in applied concentrations in Agricultural Economics, Energy Economics, Macroeconomic Policy, Private Sector Development, Economic Theory, Human Resources and Modern Data Analysis. These are implemented in partnership with the Norwegian School of Economics, University of Lausanne, University of Tartu and other international partners. 

Employment and professional internships: from a total of 346 ISET graduates, with the exception of those studying abroad, 98% are currently employed in professional and analytical positions. ISET students can benefit from a range of diverse internship opportunities during their studies.

Placement in prestigious PhD programs: former graduates have gone on to pursue PhDs at range of other universities with full funding, including Stanford University, the University of Chicago, New York University, Washington University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Warwick and the University of Leicester.

Teaching Fellows Program: around 70% of ISET graduates become teaching fellows of the CERGE-EI foundation (in the Czech Republic). All fellows receive pedagogical training in Prague and active mentoring from senior faculty at CERGE-EI and ISET. They go on to teach modern, market-based economics in different universities of the region.
