BIMoS Call for Applications for PhD Fellowships 2017/2018

Two of the main focus areas of Technische Universität Berlin are data science and  integrated mathematical modeling, simulation, and optimization. To support this line of research, BIMoS was founded in 2014 as a highly interdisciplinary graduate school at TU Berlin and focuses on data science and data-based modeling and simulation, with applications ranging from life sciences over information technology to engineering. BIMoS provides an internationally highly recognized and vivid research environment within this research area with supervision by an interdisciplinary team and a rich lecture program.

BIMoS offers 6 PhD fellowships for outstanding students holding a master’s degree.

The ideal applicant has experience in the general research area of BIMoS and enjoys working in an interdisciplinary environment.

The fellows are supported monthly with 1,468 Euro.

Beginning of financial support:  1 October 2018

Duration of support: 3 years 

Application deadline:  31 December 2017

·  Personal statement

·  Exposé of proposed PhD project

·  Letter of support of proposed PhD supervisor

·  University Transcripts

·  Proof of Proficiency in English

In addition, it is the applicant’s responsibility to ask two scientists to send a letter of recommendation each to office@bimos.tu-berlin.de by January 7th, 2018.
