The position is within the project CApturing Paradata for documenTing data creation and Use for the REsearch of the future (CAPTURE) financed by a European Research Council Consolidator Grant (ERC-COG). The principal investigator is Professor Isto Huvila. 

Principal  duties: The postdoctoral associate is mainly supposed to be engaged in research and to take care of certain administrative duties associated with the project. However, some duties relating to supervision of students is also possible. The employed research fellows are expected to plan, initiate, conduct and develop independently goal-oriented empirical research on information practices related to either making and production or use of archaeological research data in a multi-disciplinary research environment.

Requirements: To be eligible one must have completed a PhD information studies, library and information science or relevant related discipline at the latest by the beginning of the employment, shown pedagogical expertise. The candidate is expected to demonstrate very good skills in both written and oral English.

Additional qualifications: Special weight will be attached to the applicant’s research expertise, but pedagogical expertise and administrative skills will also be taken into consideration. In the evaluation of research expertise the most important factor is quality.

Meriting: Relevant practical or scholarly experience on data and information practices or behaviour in archaeology, documentation practices, science studies, archiving and preservation or management of research data is considered as an advantage as well as experience of the use of both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Knowledge of at least one of the Scandinavian languages can be useful in conducting and communicating research in Sweden and is as such considered as an advantage but is not required of a successful applicant.
