Workshop: "Identity and Conflict: Revisioning Relations in the EU Neighbourhood"
Tblisi, Georgia, 11-16 March 2019

For Students from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia

We are seeking applications for 14 places reserved for students from across Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia (MA and advanced BA level) in a DAAD-funded international workshop with students from Germany to be held at the Ilia State University in Tblisi from 11 to 16 March 2019. The workshop will consist of three main blocs:

(1) an intercultural competence workshop to facilitate communication across cultural divides

(2) a teaching bloc on identity and conflict as well as the EU and conflict transformation

(3) a group exercise to develop scenarios for conflict resolution in the South Caucasus

The workshop will be led by staff from the University of Tübingen in collaboration with colleagues from Ilia State University and SeminarsSimulationsConsulting (SSC) Europe . We expect participants to be present throughout the entire duration of the workshop and to participate actively in all sessions. Participants should have an interest in EU-Caucasus relations and conflict resolution, excellent study grades in a related subject and be fluent in English. DAAD funding will cover economy class travel, accommodation and per diems within certain limits that normally will be sufficient to cover all expenses. Georgian participants will receive a per diem only. Participants will have to make their own travel arrangements and need to comply with visa regulations that apply to them. Reimbursements can only be made upon submission of appropriate receipts.

Applications should include a one-page letter of motivation, transcripts, evidence of English language skills and any other documents that you consider of relevance.
