Since 2011, the Fund for Preservation of Wilderness and Cultural Assets (FPWC) has been implementing the project “FPWC for Yerevan Zoo” based on an agreement between the Zoo and FPWC. Per this agreement, FPWC is responsible to implement programs supporting the transformation of the Yerevan Zoo into a facility dedicated to animal welfare, education and nature protection.

 

ABOUT THE SPEAKER 

Ruben Khachatryan is the founder and director of the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC), a biodiversity conservation, environmental awareness and education NGO in Armenia established in 2002. Mr. Khachatryan was appointed as the director of the Yerevan Zoo in 2011. Under his leadership, the Yerevan Zoo has transformed its direction towards the goal of becoming a major educational venue in the community.
