University of Leicester is inviting applications for a fully-funded PhD studentship in comparative politics in the Department of Politics and International Relations. This studentship will pay full-time University UK/EU tuition fees for three years and include an annual stipend of £14,057. The successful applicant will also have access to a Research Training Support Grant worth £750 each year to help cover costs associated with their research work.
Studentship is awarded to undertake research in areas consistent with the research interests of the Department of Politics and International Relations’ academic staff. The university would particularly welcome applications from those looking to undertake research with a focus on one or more of the following areas: British Politics, Representation, Gender Politics, Legislatures and Political Parties.
Studentship is available for pursuing Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme.
Eligibility:
-First class or upper second class undergraduate degree or an equivalent overseas qualification in a relevant subject (or show evidence of achieving this by September 2015)
-It is expected that applicants will also hold a Masters degree in a relevant subject (or show evidence of achieving this by September 2015)
-Standard English language requirements-Available to suitable UK/EU and International (i.e., outside the EU) applicants – please note though that the award covers tuition fees at the UK/EU rate only; international applicants (and those not eligible to pay UK/EU tuition fees) must demonstrate at the time of their application that they can fund the difference in tuition fee rates
-Available for full-time registration only
-Available to new applicants only – i.e., existing PhD students are not eligible for this studentship
-Applicants must be able to start in September 2015
