The Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics in Frankfurt am Main investigates the attentional, cognitive and affective mechanisms of aesthetic perception and evaluation.

The institute currently offers grants for Post-doctoral Visiting Fellows for research projects regarding the aesthetic perception and evaluation of language and literature. The grants are awarded for a period of two years with a possible extension of up to one year. Starting date is flexible.

Applicants should hold a PhD degree, have an excellent record in their respective disciplines (literary studies, linguistics, psychology, or neuroscience), be interested in cooperations across disciplines and prepared to work in a multi-language environment.

Applicants should have an excellent record in their respective disciplines and submit an 8-10 pages prospectus of their research project along with two reading samples.

We offer a monthly tax-free stipend of up to € 2.500; we additionally cover some insurance costs.
