Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology Scholarships and Awards

A limited number of funding is available for those wishing to pursue the MPhil and PhD degrees at MJIIT. The following represents a non-exhaustive list pertaining to applicable scholarships and financial assistantships.

 1. MJIIT Student Incentives

Exceptionally qualified students may apply for the MJIIT Student Incentives. These incentives are open to both Malaysian and International students. We offer the following student incentives:

  • Monthly allowance (MYR 1,800-2,300) and tuition fee waiver
  • Monthly allowance (MYR 1,800-2,300)
  • Full tuition fee waiver

2. MJIIT ASEAN Student Incentive Award – PhD Programme

MJIIT has newly launched a scholarship program called “MJIIT ASEAN Student Incentive Award”, offering 17 scholarships for students from ASEAN member countries (excluding Malaysia) to study PhD Program at MJIIT, for intake of September 2015/November 2015/February 2016/April 2016/September 2016. We offer the following student incentives:

1. Monthly allowance: Ringgit Malaysia 1,800 per month for two year
2. Tuition fee: to be waived for three years
3. One round trip flight ticket between home country and Malaysia
4. Processing fee of application: to be refunded upon successful enrollment
5. Insurance in Malaysia: up to RM 4,800 for three years
6. Travel expenses and allowance for short-term attachment to a Japanese partner university for the period of 3 to 12 months  during the three-year study period
7. Travel expenses and allowance to attend an international conference in Japan

3. MJIIT ASEAN Student Incentive Award – Masters Programme

MJIIT has newly launched a scholarship program called “MJIIT ASEAN Student Incentive Award”, offering 25 scholarships for students from ASEAN member countries (excluding Malaysia and Japan) to study Master’s Degree Program at MJIIT, for intake of September 2015/November 2015/February 2016/April 2016/September 2016. We offer the following student incentives:

1. Monthly allowance: Ringgit Malaysia 1,500 per month for two year
2. Tuition fee: to be waived for two years
3. One round trip flight ticket between home country and Malaysia
4. Processing fee of application: to be waived
5. Insurance in Malaysia: up to RM 3,200 for three years
6. Travel expenses and allowance for short-term attachment to a Japanese partner university for the period of 3 to 6 months  during the two-year study period
7. Travel expenses and allowance to attend an international conference in Japan

4. Research Assistantships

Students involved in research work that are funded by grants may be offered positions as Research Officers or Research Assistants by their supervisors. Students may be required to undertake additional duties and will be remunerated with a monthly allowance. Further information on availability may be obtained from the respective faculty members at MJIIT. 

5. UTM Scholarships & Zamalah

The University offers limited scholarships for both Malaysians and international students for postgraduate studies. They include UTM Zamalah for PhD studies (Malaysians only), UTM Scholarships for Masters (Malaysians only), and UTM Scholarships for PhD studies (international students only).  6. National Science Fellowship Scheme

Awarded by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, this scheme is open to Malaysians for full-time study at the Masters and PhD levels. Further information may be obtained from www.mastic.gov.my 

7. Malaysia International Scholarship

This scholarship is open to international students for postgraduate studies, tenable at Malaysian institutions of higher learning. Details may be obtained from www.mohe.gov.my/MIS

8. MyBrain15 Scholarship
