Լecture - Entering the Business World – Best Practices Beyond Academics, AUA

Dr. Vahan Chakarian, a well-respected IT leader in Armenia and USA, will give a lecture at AUA on how to succeed after graduation. He will share his thoughts and experience, and provide practical examples of best practices for students to dvelop their careers beyond academics in the real business world.

The event is organized by AUA Startups UGRAD Student Club, which will announce its informal launch following the completion of the planning stage of its establishment.

Vahan Chakarian is a Doctor of Science and has been a business owner for 20 years. Currently the President and CEO of Technology & Science Dynamics and Founder of New Technology Education Fund. TSD is the developer of the “1st Armenian tablets and mobile phones”: ArmTab tablets and ArmPhone phones.

Dr. Vahan Chakarian has been a long-time advocate for technical entrepreneurship in USA, Armenia and the Balkans and for the promotion of trade and investment between the US and the region. Dr. Chakarian has taught professional courses in Forensic Science at University of California, Santa Barbara and Santa Barbara City College.

He holds 9 international and 17 national awards from AIOC, ACC, IFE, USA Congress. In 2003 and 2012 was honored with the gold medal by the United States Congressional Committee for scientific work in DFS-SM, AI (NTN) programs. Vahan Chakarian participated in implementation of Scientific (NTN) programs for long-term space flights.

Dr. Chakarian has been a guest lecturer at UCLA, University of Illinois, Vienna University of Economics and Business, Peking University in Beijing China, Moldova State Engineering University, and Georgian State University.

AUA Startups UGRAD student club has an honor to announce that Dr. Chakarian has accepted the invitation to share his thoughts and experience with AUA students. It will be very beneficial for every student at AUA to be present at the event, where Dr Chakarian, a well respected leader in Armenia’s IT industry, will teach how to succeed after graduation: a question which every student asks himself at least one time in his/her study times.

Also, 2 board directors: the President, Edgar Andriasyan, and the Team Development Director, Artyom Kosyan, are members of the Young Researchers’ “Mergelyan” Club founded and sponsored by TSD and NTEF. They got a huge help from the club during the development of their startup which won UNIDO Global Cleantech Innovation Programme “Best Youth-Led Business” award and was granted with a monetary prize
