Event and Catering Management,
10 April - May 18, 2017, AUA, Yerevan, Armenia

Event planning is a growing industry, and many individuals and businesses seek professionals to plan their special occasions. Event planners are essential in organizing event ranging from weddings, to family reunions, birthday parties, corporate outings, team-building events, award ceremonies, charity events, sport events and to political rallies. The great strength of this business sector is that a well-organized event is capable of satisfying guests and participants on multiple levels – an event is not only an entertainment for its participants, but a tool capable of unifying large bodies of people around a specific happening, and at its best around a specific idea.

The program prepares participants for mastering the basics of event and catering businesses, and aims to equip students with knowledge and skills needed to excel within each stage of the event management process. The participants will gain skills necessary to plan, budget and organize conferences, large business meetings, and other special events, both for the public and private sectors. The course provides participants with a general understanding of the principles and best practices of planning, budgeting and managing events. Such aspects of event management will be covered as site selection, negotiations, contracting, marketing and promotions, as well as selecting necessary technology, and event evaluation. The course also specifically focuses on the area of food and beverage management.
