AUA offers English classes for all age groups, in two dedicated units of the University.
- AUA Extension specializes in General English, as well as preparatory courses for TOEFL iBT and IELTS
- Extension courses are available to all ages starting with high school students.
- To meet the growing interest of the younger generation in learning English, the Center for Research in Applied Linguistics (CRAL) offers communicative student-centered English classes for children and young adults, 6-16.

General English Courses in Six Levels
We use a creative and interactive teaching approach to address the varied learning styles of our students and build confidence in their use of English, while providing a strong foundation of vocabulary and grammar
- Improve all-round proficiency in English studying with certified Teachers of English as a Foreign Language
- Develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills
- Taught over nine weeks in 3-hour sessions, 3 times per week
- Placement test: required if you have not attended English courses at AUA
- Small groups of 12 participants or less.
- Private lessons are available under special circumstances.
Extension courses run year round and start on a rolling basis.
TOEFL Preparatory Courses
- Student-centered academic English for success in college or university
- Practice tests intended to increase skills in taking Internet-based tests
- Covers all sections of the TOEFL iBT

The Center for Research in Applied Linguistics offers engaging English learning opportunities to children and young adults. Our teachers are top graduates and students of Master’s Program in Teaching English as a Foreign Language of American University of Armenia.
EEC Classes
- School-age children of 6-16 years old
- Placement test for new students
- Four terms: Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer
- 10 weeks with 1-hour sessions twice a week
- Focus on all language skills around topics and projects of school-age interest
- Certificate of attendance upon completion for each level.
