Content and Format

This conference aims to provide an overview of frontier research analyzing the micro-level underpinnings of aggregate technology and aggregate economic performance. The purpose it to create a meeting of frontier researchers in the areas of firm dynamics, innovation and production networks interested in understanding how micro aspects of production shape economic growth and income distribution. Preference will be given to work with a substantial empirical component in these areas of research. The ultimate goal of the conference is to generate a platform where researchers who work with micro-level data and structural macroeconomic models can interact. Some of the sub-topics include:

  • Firms and productivity
  • Firms and inequality
  • Firms and innovation
  • Firms and technology in the global economy
  • Firms, production networks and global supply chains

About the Conference

The conference is hosted by Cambridge-INET and funded by the European Research Council through the Starting Grant ERC-2013-StG “Macronets”. The conference will take place in Jesus College at the University of Cambridge, on August 31st and September 1st 2016. The format of the conference will be 6 speakers per day plus discussants.

Deadline for submissions is June 15th. To submit work for presentation at the conference, please email your paper to inet-cfp@econ.cam.ac.uk.

Funding

Funding to cover travel costs for participants, including economy flights, and three nights’ accommodation in Jesus College will be provided.
