ASMI POSTGRADUATE SUMMER SCHOOL 2017

We welcome proposals from postgraduate students and early career scholars for papers on any aspects of Modern Italian culture, history, politics and society from the eighteenth to the twenty-first century and from any academic discipline.
The summer school is designed to engage postgraduate students and independent scholars in the field of Italian Studies to share their research and test their ideas. Participants will present their papers in panel sessions and then receive feedback from senior scholars and junior colleagues in a welcoming and supportive environment. Papers can be in English or Italian and should be no more than 20 minutes in length.

Please send an abstract (max 250 words) and a short biography (max 100 words) to the conference organisers at asmi.summerschool.2017@gmail.com by Friday 31st March 2017.

The summer school program includes two keynote lectures and a training session:

Keynote speakers:

• Dr. Clodagh Brook (University of Birmingham) ‘Exploding the Cinematic Frame: Expanded Cinema in Italy’

• Prof. Robert S. C. Gordon (University of Cambridge) ‘Adano and Occupation Literature’

Training session:

• Dr Olivia Swift (Royal Holloway) Workshop: ‘The impact of research’
