University of Sussex School of Law, Politics and Sociology Doctoral Scholarships

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and motivated individuals to take up new PhD studentship opportunities in the School of Law Politics and Sociology.

Scholarships, in the form of full fee waivers, are available from September 2016 for a period of three years. There may also be an exceptional stipend of approximately £14,500 awarded to the best PhD applicant in the School.

Apply for your PhD course at Sussex by Monday 14 March 2016

Step 2

When you have submitted an application for your course, complete the scholarship application form and submit to Lindsey Allen-Cavell by Monday 9 May 2016.

Outline proposals are sought in any fields where supervision can be arranged within the School.

Cross-disciplinary areas of research expertise within the School of Law, Politics and Sociology include: corruption and governance; migration, citizenship and ethnicity; European integration; gender and inequality; human rights; medicine and health; comparative public policy; and criminology. Applications linked to the School’s research centres are particularly welcome: the Sussex European Institute; the Sussex Centre for the Study of Corruption and Governance; the Centre for Gender Studies; and the Sussex Centre for Human Rights.

Other topics linked to the expertise of a particular faculty member are also welcome.
