£1,000 for each subject in which you exceed your University of Southampton offer.
This scholarship is available to any International applicant who exceeds the standard GCE A level entry criteria of AAA, ie by achieving a minimum of A*AA (please note only the best 3 GCE A levels will be considered and as your offer will have stated, there may be exempt subjects)
Illustrative examples:
UoS offer you AAA, you achieve A*AB - £0
UoS offer you AAA, you achieve AAA = £0
UoS offer you AAA, you achieve A*AA = £1,000
UoS offer you AA, you achieve A*A*A = £2,000
Equivalent qualifications
Applicants who are studying the International Baccalaureate will need to achieve 38 points overall to gain the Scholarship.
Applicants who are studying an International Foundation Year will need to exceed their offer by 5% to gain the Scholarship.
Please note:
For GCE A levels only: A maximum of three subjects will be eligible, so the maximum sum available is £3,000 per year.
The same amount will be payable for each year of your programme.
International applicants doing equivalent qualifications will only be entitled to £1,000 per year of their programme.
In order for your scholarship to be paid in continuing years, you must successfully pass each year of study at the first attempt.
Conditions for all UK, EU and International applicants:
1. This Scholarship only applies to those applicants who are entering Year 1 of their chosen degree programme.
2. If an applicant also has English conditions attached to their offer, these also need to be met before an applicant can be eligible for a Southampton Merit Scholarship
3. Scholarships will be paid after 1 December 2015.
To be eligible for a Southampton Merit Scholarship, all applicants need to select the University of Southampton as their firm acceptance through UCAS before 30 June 2015.
There is no application form for these Southampton Merit Scholarships they will be automatically awarded to successful applicants after confirmation in August 2015.
For Canadian applicants enrolling in the academic year 2015/16 who meet or exceed the terms of their offers, or have received an unconditional offer, and make Southampton Law School their ‘firm’ choice within 30 days of receiving their offer, £1,000 Prestige Scholarship is payable for each year of their LLB programme.
