University of Queensland Economics Scholarship for Vietnamese Students

The following competitive scholarships are awarded to outstanding Vietnamese students on the basis of academic excellence and extra-curricular activities. Students who are short listed for consideration will be required to participate in an interview. Scholarship applications can be submitted through a UQ recognised Education Representative or directly to The University of Queensland.

Award value:
 
Covering up to 100% of the tuition fees

Undergraduate

Covering up to 100% of the tuition fees only for students seeking entry into the Bachelor of Economics. The scholarship does not include living expenses for the duration of the program, travel expenses or overseas health cover

  • Bachelor of Economics (including BEcon dual programs)

Academic Criteria

  • Direct entry for students from  a recognised gifted school: Graduates from a recognised Vietnamese gifted school with a year 12 average grade of 8.0 or above on a 10 point scale. Students must have successfully completed advanced mathematics (including calculus) or;
  • University pathway: Successful completion of the first year of tertiary study with a grade point average of at least 8 out of 10 on the Vietnamese grading scale.

English Language Proficiency

  • Students must have an IELTS of 6.5 overall with a 6 in all other sub bands, or Internet based TOEFL minimum overall score of 87 with: 21 writing; 19 reading; 19 speaking; 19 listening.

Coursework Masters

These scholarships do not include living expenses for the duration of the program, travel expenses or overseas health cover. They are awarded on a competitive basis. Previous study of economics or work experience is not required. Covers up to 100% of tuition fees for students seeking entry into one of the following coursework masters programs:

  • Master of Economics and Public Policy
  • Master of Development Economics
  • Master of International Economics and Finance
  • Master of Business Economics
  • Master of Health Economics

Academic Criteria

  • Complete an undergraduate degree from a recognised institution with a GPA of at least 8 out of 10 on the Vietnamese grading scale. Vietnamese students with a qualification from Australia or another country are also eligible to apply.

English Language Proficiency

2. Complete a UQ International Student Application Form

3. Submit an application form with the following documents through a registered UQ International Education Representative or directly to The University of Queensland International Admissions: PLEASE NOTE EMAIL SUBJECT LINE MUST READ "ECONOMICS SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION"

  • motivation letter
  • 2 reference letters
  • resume/CV
  • current IELTS or TOEFL certificate
