St Cross College, jointly with the Sub-Department of Astrophysics, offers the following scholarship for students who will begin studying for a DPhil at the University of Oxford in the academic year 2019-2020. The Sub-Department of Astrophysics offers a range of projects covering astronomical instrumentation, observation and theory. Full details of the projects on offer for study can be found on the Astrophysics webpages. The Scholarship is open to all Home/EU students beginning the DPhil course in Michaelmas 2019 at St Cross.

The Graduate Scholarship covers the cost of the Home/EU course fee for three years. The Scholarship also includes an annual maintenance grant to the value of the RCUK doctoral stipend available to Home students (£14,999 per annum for 2019-2020). The successful scholar will be given priority for a room in College accommodation (at the standard rent) for the first year of their course.

The Graduate Scholarship is awarded purely on the basis of academic merit and is tenable at St Cross College only.

Applicants entering into DPhil status in 2019-2020 should apply for a DPhil in Astrophysics using the University's standard application form and must list St Cross College as their first choice.

The application deadline is Friday 25th January 2019. Everyone who applies for the DPhil in Astrophysics, and lists St Cross as their first choice of college (and who applies at any time before the Admissions deadline) will be considered automatically.
