Assistant Professor (Postdoctoral Fellow) in Economics

Assistant professorships ("postdoc") are primarily intended to qualify candidates for a career in academia. They are fixed-term appointments for up to four years, with some teaching and administrative duties.

The position will be associated with the following research project:

  • CONSERVATION, ERC grant headed by Professor Bård Harstad

The research area for the position is Economic Theory, Economics of Information, and Environmental Economics.

Qualifications and Personal Skills

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree. Candidates from foreign educational institutions must have completed the requirements for the doctoral degree within five months after the closing date. Candidates from Norwegian educational institutions must have submitted their doctoral dissertations for evaluation before the closing date. Confirmation from the relevant institution, that requirements are (or will be) met, should accompany the application together with the doctoral dissertation. A prerequisite for taking up the position is the successful completion of a doctoral degree.

The ranking of qualified applicants are based on scientific merits. Although the candidate is free to pursue his or her own research agenda, ongoing research and future plans will be considered in line with personal suitability for the job and cooperation skills. The candidate is expected to have a strong competence in economic theory, such as information economics, social learning, and moral hazard, and also a research project that overlaps with environmental economics.
