The University of Oslo Ph.D. Research Fellowship in Mathematics
A position as Ph.D. Research Fellow is available at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Oslo. If the successful candidate has a good command of one Scandinavian language (Norwegian, Swedish, Danish), the fellowship will be for a period of 4 years, with 25 % compulsory work (teaching responsibilities at the Department). Otherwise, the fellowship will be for a period of 3 years, with no compulsory work. No one can be appointed for more than one fixed-term period at the same institution. Starting date no later than 01.06.2016.
Job/ project description
The research fellow will be attached to the Section for Stochastic Analysis, Finance, Insurance, and Risk, and be part of "Stochastics of Renewable Energy Markets (STORE)". STORE is a 4-year project funded by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Information about STORE is found here - http://www.mn.uio.no/math/english/research/groups/store/index.html. Requirements/qualifications
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has a strategic ambition of being a leading research faculty. Candidates for these fellowships will be selected in accordance with this and will be expected to be in the upper segment of their class with respect to academic credentials.
Applicants must hold a Master's degree or equivalent in mathematics, with an excellent background in stochastic analysis. The purpose of the fellowship is research training leading to the successful completion of a Ph.D. degree.
The fellowship requires admission to the Ph.D. program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The application to the Ph.D. program must be submitted to the department no later than two months after taking up the position. For more information see here:

Position code 1017, Pay grade: 50 - 57 (NOK 430 500 – 483 700 per year).
