University of Leicester is inviting applications for two available graduate research assistantships in the Department of Economics for October 2015 entry to its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme. The assistantship involves supporting Faculty research in Experimental Economics (e.g. literature review, data curation, data analysis, etc.). Approximately 80% of their time will be spent on their doctoral research and 20% on their GRA responsibilities. These posts will pay full-time University UK/EU tuition fees for four years and include an annual maintenance grant. 

 Assistantships are awarded in areas compatible with the research interests of Department of Economics’ staff (Public Economics, Labour Economics, Industrial Organisation, Behavioural Economics, Game Theory, Contract Theory and Mechanism Design).

 

Course Level: Assistantships are available to undertake research-related duties within the Department while undertaking research leading to a PhD.

Eligibility:

-First class or upper second class undergraduate degree or an equivalent overseas qualification in a relevant subject (or show evidence of achieving this before the start of the PhD)
-A Masters degree in a relevant subject (or show evidence of achieving this before the start of the PhD)
-Applicants should be able to demonstrate some relevant research experience – for example, as part of a previous degree
-Standard English language requirements-Available for full-time registration only
-Applicants must be able to start in October 2015
-These posts are open to suitable UK/EU and International (i.e., outside the EU) applicants. Please note though that the awards cover tuition fees at the UK/EU rate only. International applicants (and those not eligible to pay UK/EU tuition fees) must demonstrate at the time of their application that they can fund the difference in tuition fee rates.
