Economic Development thinking the Environment
9-10 May, 2019, Faculty of Economics, University of Coimbra
This INFER workshop jointly organized with CeBER, Center for Business and Economics Research of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra provides an opportunity for everybody interested in the interconnections between economic growth and environmental economics to exchange ideas, create links in research and to meet fellows in related subject. Researchers are invited to submit both empirical and theoretical papers that are related to the topic of the conference. For example, we will welcome papers related to the following non-exhaustive list of topics:
- Environment and Trade
- Natural resources
- Environmental Regulation
- Recycling
- Circular Economy
- Growth and Climate Change
- International environmental agreements
- Renewable Energy
- Growth and Pollution
- Human development and environment
Paper Submission Procedure:
To submit a paper to the workshop, please send a complete version to the email address "wscoimbra2019@fe.uc.pt" with the subject "Submission to the INFER Workshop Coimbra 2019". The NEW deadline is February 28th 2019.
Only full papers in English may be submitted, preferably in pdf-format with the following information: Authors’ full name and affiliation;Contact details for corresponding author, such as address, phone and e-mail.
All submitted papers will be peer reviewed according to a high-quality and fast referee process overviewed by the Scientific Committee.
Authors will be notified whether their paper is accepted for presentation at the Workshop no later than March 18th, 2019.
Workshop presenters are expected to discuss one other paper during the sessions. The discussant assignments will be made by the workshop organizers at a later date. As the workshop intends to build a network in this research area, participation is welcome even without paper contributions.
Registration and Fees
The registration fee for presenting and non-presenting participants will be:
- INFER members: 130 EUR
- Other participants: 200 EUR
Please note: the annual membership fee for private INFER members is 40 EUR (institutional INFER members 400 EUR).
You are invited to become a member.
The registration fee includes the conference dinner, lunches and drinks. It does not include travel and accommodation expenses. All workshop participants have to register for the workshop. Please note that paper submission is not regarded as a registration.
Registration preferably trough the INFER website + PayPal
Please register on the INFER website. Payment can be done via PayPal on the website. Please note that you can use the same website to become an INFER member. For most countries you don’t need a paypal account.
Alternatively, payment can be done by e-mail and bank transfer. Start in the transfer reference with your last name and INFER Workshop Coimbra 2019.
Deadline for registration and payment : 15th April, 2019
In case of late registration (until 30th April, 2019), the fees will be increased by 50 %.

Accommodation
Participants are responsible for their travel and accommodation arrangements.
The registration fee does not cover accommodation.
