SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS

Trinity College intends to elect either one or two Senior Research Fellows in the Arts, Humanities, and/or Social Sciences with effect from 1 October 2020 (or an agreed later date).  The College regards a Senior Research Fellowship as being of academic standing comparable to that of a distinguished research professorship at a major university, and applicants are expected to have an outstanding record of achievement in research.  The stipend, for a Fellow not receiving regular remuneration from other sources, will be negotiable within the range of £84,000–£102,000.

Senior Research Fellowships can be held until the retirement age (currently 67), but there is a statutory requirement that continuation of tenure after each period of not more than five years is subject to the College Council’s being satisfied that the Fellow is continuing to make contributions of high value to his or her subject of study.  Further particulars, including details of emoluments and terms of appointment, and a guide to the information required in the application, may be obtained from the College’s website (Further Particulars) or from the Fellowship Administrator fellows.office@trin.cam.ac.uk.  Applications should be made via the College’s online applications system   by 14 January 2020 at the latest.  Applicants should ask three referees to submit letters on their behalf via the same online system and by the same date; they will also need to submit the names and contact details of their referees on the system. Applicants may also wish to make online submission of their recent publications.
