Marie Curie (ITN) Early Stage Researcher (Fixed Term)

An early stage researcher position is available to work in Computational Cognitive Neuroscience at the Adaptive Brain Lab . The project forms part of the Marie Curie Action ¿ Innovative Training Network: DyViTo  and aims to uncover how the brain learns to represent objects and make optimal perceptual decisions. We aim to shed light on how we perceive 3D shapes, and learn to assign them into meaningful categories. The successful applicant will combine behavioural paradigms, with state-of-the-art brain imaging and computational modeling (including deep learning approaches for visual recognition). They will receive multi-disciplinary research training at the interface between psychology, neuroscience, computer science, engineering and industrial design.

Applicants should have a Masters and/or First Degree, together with a strong academic track record, in a relevant area (e.g., Psychology, Neuroscience, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics). They must satisfy the eligibility requirements that apply to all Marie Curie Early Stage Researchers: they cannot be in possession of a PhD qualification, and should not have resided in the UK for more than 12 months before appointment.

The successful applicant will receive the full Marie Sklodowska-Curie Early Stage Researcher allowances as set by the European Commission: €52,095 per annum before employer costs (indicative £ sum: £33,665 per annum gross salary after employer costs deducted, using estimated £:€ rate of 1.2). Additional annual allowance available for eligible fellows with family dependents: €6000 before employer costs. Salaries are subject to normal UK deductions (income tax, NI and pension contributions where applicable).

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for up to 2 years in the first instance.
