Msca-Cofund Athenea3i Research Fellowship Programme

Athenea3i is a research fellowship programme focused on attracting highly talented researchers to the Universidad de Granada (UGR) in order to benefit their research career with a Triple ‘I’ approach offering international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral opportunities. This innovative fellowship programme offers the experienced researchers an outstanding opportunity to develop new skills and competences, enriched with a personalised and pioneering career mentoring plan. Athenea3i also includes research periods at different international institutions, and optional secondment in regional, national and international companies.

The highly talented human capital will be hired by the Universidad de Granada. They will play a key role establishing bridges for the transfer of knowledge, exploitation of the results, and future research not only in relation to academia, but also to industry and businesses. Athenea3i’s commitment pivots on the applicability of research outputs by making Science for Society: reinforcing not only the innovative aspect but also open data access and public engagement.

What are our objectives?

To enhance high-level career development by providing access to a wide range of international training processes, with a made-to-measure Mentoring & Training Working Plan, which will impact directly on the leadership and maturity skills of the researchers.

To promote mobility as a key factor between countries and sectors that will allow researchers to gain practical experience in a variety of settings and contexts, promoting research within European and global scientific and social challenges.

To raise awareness among researchers of the importance of innovation in research output to benefit society and to address the EU Horizon 2020 challenges.

To establish a permanent partnership network, formed by the participating organisations, that will be active throughout the lifetime and beyond the duration of the project, reinforcing future career opportunities for the fellows, in both academia and the global market.

To improve UGR scientific excellence by attracting high-level, qualified and talented researchers who will facilitate the host institution to go a step further regarding scientific quality and social impact in a bi-directional process of knowledge transfer: researcher towards host institution and vice-versa.
