Participation in Business Development Trainings: Startup Knowledge & Skills – for startups & young innovative companies
The “Support to SME development in Armenia” (SMEDA) project offers the workshop series “Startup Knowledge & Skills” for representatives of Startups and young innovative companies on managerial level.
SMEDA is co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ Private Sector Development in South Caucasus Programme. SMEDA is part of the EU4Business and EU4Innovation initiatives of the European Union in Armenia.
The aim of the workshop series is to create knowledge & capacities in business development within existing and operating Armenian startups & young innovative companies. The content of the workshops will be a combination of theoretical knowledge and foremost practical oriented methods and approaches.
The provided knowledge will be directly applicable in everyday business and will help to boost the business development and successful strategic positioning of the participating ventures.
The following trainings are planned (please find an outline of the content below):
- Financial Planning & Investment 04.- 05.10.2017
- Marketing Strategies and Sales Models 07.- 08.10.2017
- Internationalization Strategy 28.- 29.11.2017
Who do we target?
The number of participants is limited to 20 Armenian business representatives with a maximum of two persons per company. The selected companies must exist since at least one year and have a first product. Priority sectors are innovative companies from any kind of economic sector with a willingness and an interest in upgrading and boosting their venture. For participating businesses, it is mandatory to take an active part in all the planned trainings.
The trainings will be conducted by experienced international experts with a background in financing (VC and seed funding), acceleration, serial entrepreneurship, business development, marketing & sales.

The form requests a brief description of your company and the participating individuals and a brief motivation letter (max. 500 characters). The participants will be selected according to their availability for all the workshops and the motivation provided.

Financial Planning & Investment
Applied training for entrepreneurs and management of startups on financial and investment analysis and planning. This encompasses, amongst other topics, business planning and budgeting using relevant tools.
Investment and equity management.
Applied training for entrepreneurs and management of startups on planning & validation of marketing actions and development & implementation of sales strategies. The aim is to present different approaches and models to strengthen the sales processes. Furthermore, there will be a focus on effective and efficient targeted planning utilization of marketing tools and channels.
Applied training for entrepreneurs and management of startups on internationalization strategies. The aim of the training is to focus on the analysis of target markets and market entry strategies as well as to discuss different export related business implementation approaches and the operational and legal implications in different markets.
All the trainings incorporate on the one hand practical knowledge & instruments and work with real business cases and on the other hand apply the presented approaches to the own venture.
