Dr. Arpie Balian holds a business degree from the American University of Beirut, a Mater’s in Executive Leadership from the American University, Washington D.C, and a doctorate from the University of Southern California in Planning, Policy and Development.
This course is about executive leadership in the public sector. It is designed for individuals who want to expand their career horizons and be more impactful as they move through positions in the public sector (6overnment and NG0s). Good leaders are expected to be able to solve problems, new and old, capitalize on new opportunities and navigate through the Changing landscape of business. Leadership is a complex process 1 which the leader influences others to perform and accomplish shared 8oals. The leadership attributes, including belief, values, ethics, character, knowledge, and skills, are all traits that can be learned. This curriculum aims to provide the basis for understanding what leadership is and what leaders do to be successful.
