About the programme
Subject: Business, Language and Communication
Duration of the summer school: 3 weeks (5 ECTS)
The award of the credits is subject to agreement with your home institution. This agreement needs to be documented in your application.
Course period: All courses have a duration of three weeks. Each course consists of 60 lessons but additional project work and homework should be expected.
Language: All courses are taught in English
Application deadline: You can apply for the summer school 2017 from mid-January 2017.
The Summer School courses are offered according to the Danish rules of Open University.
About the courses
You can choose a course that matches your interests exactly.
The courses are mainly at bachelor degree level but can also be relevant for master degree students. This depends on your home institution and also on the study programme.
All courses provide intensive teaching programmes; hence full attendance is compulsory to pass the course.
The courses offered in this category covers subjects like Personal Skills, Business Communication, Intercul-tural Communication, English Language – Communication Skills, and Academich English – English Commu-nication for the University Student.
The course fee does not include expenses for food or accommodation.
Depending on what type of participation you choose, you might have to pay fees.
Free of charge applies to:
All VIA University College students or EU/EEC students from VIA partner institutions, who can document that the VIA Summer School course is part of their education
Participation fee (250 EUR/3-week course) applies to:
All VIA University College students or EU/EEC students from VIA partner institutions who cannot document that the VIA Summer School course is part of their education, and all students from non-VIA partner institutions, graduates from a school of higher education and applicants not currently enrolled in any school of higher education.
Tuition Fee (650 EUR/3-week course) applies to:
All students and graduates of non-EU/EEC schools of higher education.

Your citizenship or nationality does not determine whether you must pay a fee. Whether or not you pay a fee depends on the location of your home institution and whether or not it has a cooperation agreement with VIA University College.
If you are in doubt about whether or not your school has a bilateral exchange agreement with (is a partner of) VIA University College, you can ask your head of department, head of programme or international officer.
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer any scholarships for participants at the moment.
Arrival and Departure
Students using our accommodation assistance:
We expect students to arrive the weekend before the course starts.
We will organise transportation from the train station to your destination. Further information including the programme for the first day will be sent directly to participants by e-mail.
We expect students to depart on Friday (the last day of the course) or on Saturday (the day after) before noon.

Expenses related to books, course materials, social programme, and housing are not included in the fees listed above. You must also budget for buying your own food.
VIA Summer School will organise social activities, some of which will require payment.
The currency in Denmark is the Danish Krone (DKK). Most shops will accept credit cards such as VISA or MasterCard.
