Summer Program - Quantitative Methods of Social Research June-August 2016, Michigan, USA

Publish Date: Jun 17, 2016

The ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social Research is recognized throughout the world as a leading source of basic and advanced instruction in a wide range of methodologies and techniques for research across the social, behavioral, and medical sciences. Our courses emphasize the integration of methodological strategies with the theoretical and practical concerns that arise in research on substantive issues. Our unique and supportive social environment facilitates professional networking and encourages the exchange of ideas about research theory and practice.

Founded in 1963 to address a lack of training opportunities in empirical research methods within the social sciences, the ICPSR Summer Program has since expanded dramatically in size and scope. Today, it serves a large and diverse international constituency. The 2015 Program offered 81 workshops and lectures in locations across the United States and Canada. Our participants included students, faculty, and researchers from more than 40 countries, 300 institutions, and 30 disciplines.

The 2016 Summer Program schedule is now available and registration for the Program is open!

We will offer two four-week sessions in Ann Arbor, Michigan;

the first session runs from June 20 to July 15, 2016; the second four-week session runs from July 18 to August 12, 2016. In addition, we will offer 50 short, two- to five-day workshops in Ann Arbor, MI, as well as in numerous other locations. The 2016 Summer Program includes a comprehensive array of quantitative courses, from introductory-level material to advanced statistical techniques. The 2016 Program also introduces new workshops on strategies for reproducing research, qualitative and mixed research methods, text analysis, and geospatial data. In addition, we will offer workshops in several new locations -- Annapolis, Maryland; Bloomington, Indiana; Palo Alto, California, and Lisbon, Portugal -- as well as in our traditional locations of Ann Arbor, Michigan; Amherst, Massachusetts; Berkeley, California; Boulder, Colorado; Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Manhattan, New York, and Montreal, Canada.
