US-based mechanical engineer, Stanley Boghosian, will present the approach that his work group has recently used to perform economic assessments of retrofit strategies for existing buildings. He will discuss various ways of evaluating energy and economic performance.
He will also describe some of the equipment and designs that his group has used in designing low energy and zero energy building projects. Discussion to follow the presentation.
Stanley Boghosian is a mechanical engineer who is visiting from the United States. He has a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley (1974). His work has involved the economic and performance analysis for energy equipment (residential furnaces, air handlers), buildings, and HVAC systems. Most recently, he has worked for a large architecture-engineering company as a design engineer for HVAC systems in large buildings, performing HVAC design and studies of the economic means of retrofitting existing buildings in order to achieve zero energy performance.
